Many of you know me as AJ and a few of you know that I'm the software lead
at SpotterRF.
Today I'm giving a presentation in the Talmage 1170 at 5:30 entitled
"Technology, Community, Jobs" after which I'll be talking more about
SpotterRF and scheduling interviews for tomorrow at BYU and other times at
our office.
The point of the presentation is essentially telling the secrets of getting
a good job locally (and with the hope that you'll want to get a good job
with us).
Come, challenge my opinions, enjoy some pizza, share some success stories
of your own.
The job posting is here (and below):
https://cs.byu.edu/employment/jobs/5417
The skinny is that we're a tech startup that sells compact (lunchbox size)
radar to the military and we have a lot a fringe technology that is
evolving in the process (and none of it involves MSIE).
Here are some projects that have sprung out of github.com/SpotterRF (both
on and off the clock):
* Foobar3000 - The worlds most advanced (and convenient) echo server
* Dropshare - Simple file-sharing that gets past (government) e-mail filters
* Mildoc - Pretty documentation for the rest of us
* Tolmey - GPS Geotranslation in JavaScript
* Appr - Application Distribution (think App Store)
We're looking to hire the top 10% and our salaries and benefits reflect
that - based on calculations stemming from salary.com and the Fog Creek
http://joelonsoftware.com/articles/ladder.html.
If you love technology, want to work in a friendly environment, and have a
budding (or deep) interest in a mix of the areas below, or you just have a
good feeling about it, feel free to get in touch with me now.
We're looking for skill but, more importantly, potential.
