I've been composing music since I was a teenager. It never really was more than a hobby, and I didn't take the time to write anything down. Also, being a computer aficionado, I wanted to find some computer software that would help me develop this hobby.
I soon found that unless I could invest hundreds of dollars into software, there wasn't really a good way of doing this in windows. When I first experimented with Linux at the ripe age of 16, I quickly discovered Rosegarden, and other free software that could help me in that area.
My interest in music and computers is just as strong as ever, and I have roughly the same tool set available to me as most professional publishers and recording studios--all for the cost of some basic recording equipment. In this meeting, I will be sharing my techniques, ways to avoid pitfalls, and how to get your computer setup to turn your computer into a home studio.
